CASE STUDY: VIRTUAL CME ON CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE WITH EXTENDED CME ACCREDITATION PERIOD

‘’Risk Factors for Stroke According to the Latest Evidence’’

Overview:

Based on an estimated stroke incidence rate of 161 per 100 000 persons per year in Vietnam, the country saw an estimated 157,295 new stroke cases in 2021(1).

On August 9th, 2024 Medisetter hosted a pivotal virtual CME event (4 points) to provide a review of the latest scientific and clinical literature on stroke risk factors, based on the latest evidence. This event was designed for HCPs seeking to not only enhance but also expand their knowledge and practice in stroke and with a particular relevance to Cardiologists, Endocrinologists, Internists and General Practitioners

The program featured:

  1. Overview of Stroke presented by Chairman Prof. PhD. MD. Dang Van Phuoc
  2. Stroke in Sport presented by S.P II. MD. Nguyen Trong Luat
  3. Relationship between Stroke and Diabetes presented by S.P II. MD. Do Thi Ha Ky

Medisetter was honored to collaborate with the University of Health Sciences – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City on this event.

Future directions for stroke care in Vietnam include the development of national guidelines for stroke diagnosis and treatment in the local language. Continued education and tracking of stroke metrics in the prehospital, emergency department, hospital, and post discharge realms with 90‐day outcomes are also important to keep pace with rapid advances in the medical and endovascular care of the patients. Prevention is better than cure.

Our Scope of Work:

  1. Event Organization / Stakeholder Management: Medisetter led the content direction, HCO and speaker recruitment, organization and technical execution
  2. Multichannel Distribution: We leveraged our community of over 30k healthcare practitioners across a diverse range of therapeutic areas to promote the event via 4 different digital channels, thereby ensuring broad reach, reinforcement and ensuring a large number of registrations
  3. Post-Event Initiatives: We piloted a brand new initiative in this CME event whereby attendees of the live event can revisit a recorded version of the course on Medisetter’s online training platform and complete self-paced assessments to earn CME credits. Access will be available for up to 10 days after the online CME event.

Outcome:

The event was attended by 308 HCPs , who clocked an average attendance duration of over 1.5 hours. Significantly, out of a total of 118 attendees who took the in-event feedback survey, 117 respondents rated the topic 4 points or above on a scale of 1 to 5 while 115 respondents rated the speaker presentations 4 points or above.

Last but not least, we were pleasantly surprised to receive an enthusiastic response to our newly launched post event, self-paced CME facility with a significant number of registrations on our online training platform being realized within the first few days after the event. By providing this self-paced / recorded lecture version of the content (with CME eligibility), Medisetter helps  deliver effective message reinforcement to those who already attended the event while, at the same time, expanding message reach by allowing those who could not attend the live event to access the content.
