Rick Thielke

Chairman

Rick Thielke is a Hong Kong-based entrepreneur and private investor who sits at the nexus of artificial intelligence, global commodities, and energy-infrastructure finance. Over a 15-year career spanning North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America, he has:

  • Designed the natural-gas and power strategy for a US $10 billion multi-strategy fund, opening new desks in gas derivatives and municipal power.
  • Co-founded Primo Power, an ERCOT-based retail electricity provider.
  • Partnered in renewable, storage and thermal-power projects exceeding US $2 billion GAV, with a further ~US $1 billion now under exclusivity.
  • Managed pooled investment vehicles with AUM > US $1.8 billion focused on North-American gas and power.
  • Advised Fortune 500 leaders on AI-driven energy solutions, including a Fortune 50 insurer and an NBA franchise.

An early mover in applied AI, Rick holds six patents, with several more pending, covering advanced weather-forecasting algorithms for renewables and real-time grid optimization. He began his career trading energy derivatives at ConocoPhillips and SandRidge Capital before launching an algorithmic hedge fund in 2014.

Today, as Chairman of Mirarc Holdings Group, he oversees a diversified portfolio across energy derivatives, LNG-to-power, renewables, crypto and consumer tech, co-investing alongside global leaders in the US, Europe and APAC.

Rick earned an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business at age 22—the program’s youngest graduate— and a BBA in Business Honors & Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. Named to Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2012, he serves on advisory boards for private and public enterprises and is a member of the Aspen Institute Society of Fellows.
