What is non-surgical rhinoplasty?
Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a technique which allows you to reshape your nose without going under the knife. It is ideally suited for those who are against the idea of surgery or have health conditions that make surgery risky (eg. blood clotting disorders or diabetes).
How does non-surgical rhinoplasty work?
The procedure can be done in as little as 15 minutes after having an initial consultation with the plastic surgeon.
Local anesthetic will be applied to the nose to minimize any discomfort or pain during the procedure. The points on the nose which need correction or reshaping are precisely marked, and then a synthetic material called a “filler” is injected into the pre-marked points on the nose. The procedure could be summarized in 3 following steps:
- local anesthetic is applied to the area that needs reshaping, to help reduce pain.
- a “filler” is then injected into the pre-marked areas.
- The physician will massage the filler once it’s been injected to reshape the nose as required
This procedure can be used for correction of bumps or humps, raising the nasal bridge, correction of any saddle deformities, non-surgical nasal contouring and raising the nasal tip. Note that it does not help if you want to reduce the size of your nose.
The common side effects include redness, slight swelling and bruising at injection sites that usually subside in few hours or days. Effects of the treatment are noticeable immediately after the treatment. Full effects will take few days to be completely visible.
